The County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) has a compassionate understanding of the problems that confront veterans, widows, widowers, and children. The CVSO knows the extent, the meaning, and the application of laws that have been passed by Congress in the interests of veterans and their dependents, as well as the rules and regulations adopted by the Department of Veterans Affairs to clarify and to implement those laws. The CVSO will apply specialized knowledge in the best way suited to the needs of every individual veteran or beneficiary who comes to the office for assistance.
Roy Mullis is a 32-year Army veteran, having worked with five combat divisions, Special Forces, and the Defense Logistics Agency and on two hospital assignments. Upon his retirement from the military in 2008, he returned to the community, working as a farmer, machinist, cabinet maker, and Supply Director for Franciscan Health. Upon retirement from Franciscan in 2024, he took the job as the County Veterans Service Officer. He looks forward to using his extensive experience to help the veterans of Pulaski County.
