Auditor’s Office

The County Auditor is elected for a four-year term and may serve for no more than eight years in a 12-year period. The auditor serves as secretary of the Board of County Commissioners and the County Council. She is the general bookkeeper of the County, maintaining the accounts and the issuance of warrants for the payment of claims allowed by the County Commissioners. It is the responsibility of the Auditor’s Office to prepare the annual tax duplicate showing value of property and taxes assessed each taxpayer. The Auditor’s Office prepares plans of each civil township in the county subdivided to show ownership and assessed valuation of each parcel.
